Last weekend's Mazen winner Jason Harber is stage managing this weekend and just rolled by with artist liaison Jodi-Paul Wooster and a new keg. I'm tempted to follow them.
Checking in on #4 The Church of Metro and they've moved their tablework to a smaller table. Does that make this benchwork? They're reviewing the stage set-up and entrances/crosses/exits. Now the actors are up on their feet. Sunlight penetrates the windows of the Buster space with much subsequent squinting. Katie Driscoll walks over to me and points to a note in her script which indicates she is playing 7 different characters. Piece of cake for this ensemble star! Mark directs Donna Wood to explore the different levels of her monolog while the other actors are muttering their lines to themselves busy memorizing. If I didn't know better I'd think these people were wearing bluetooths or struggling with schizophrenia, but it's just the frenzied task of getting off-book by 8 o'clock!
