Slowly Building Steam

Saturdays at 14/48 is where you see and feel the love for both the experiments and the artform.

At this point in the game, everyone has been actively doing this for well over 36 hours, and the end of the line is in sight, but there is still all of this other business you have to tend to.

For a good example of this mindset in action, drop in on the band.

To go with the theme, the band has decided to wear pajamas for this evening. David Anthony Lewis putters around riffing on the guitar still looking a remarkable amount like Joaquin Phoenix in I'm Not There. Brendan Hogan is serving as band liaison for the day; he'd normally be in the band, but the guy has managed to burn his hand so badly, playing is the furthest thing from his mind.

It seems Justin Huertas' cello skills left a bit of an impression, as there has been an increasing demand for his skills.

The band is discussing show #5 (The Olive Bed). The director is looking for a gagging sound; David Pascal looks to Annie Jantzer, who demonstrates her ability in doing that with disturbing alacrity. "That's the kind of longing I'm always looking for," someone intones, and the group collectively groan.

Yep, the punchiness is already in effect, as the overwhelming amount of gutter mind floating around throughout the building is a clear indication.

Show #5 also needs a theme that speaks of "a wordless longing." The band exchange baffled looks before they decide to use the guitar to do that.

Next show.
