There is an actor on the floor spinning and dancing. Her scene partner stands by with director Manuel R. Cawaling clapping out a rhythm. I already love it.
As Manny was reading through this play earlier this morning, he was smiling and chuckling and truly enjoying Gillian Jorgensen’s My Pet and My Dead Pet.
Now, he happily sprawls out on his stomach on the cold tiles of the Allen Theatre Lobby, watching his actors sing and dance (just a little bit, it’s not a musical). I was glad to see this, as last night he was telling me that he had one big fear: That he would end up directing a rock opera today.
