From talking with the band earlier I remember that this is the piece that features circus themed music transitioning to space travel music transitioning to beach party music. So, it's only fitting that the action in the run-through taking place would fit the music: Heather Gautschi as the piece's teenage protagonist with aspirations of being a neurosurgeon. It seems her Russian emigrate circus family (played by Veterans Jason Sharp and Amanda Lee Williams) is concerned with keeping the tradition going as they head to outer space. Gautschi then launches herself through space and lands at Planet Spring Break, where, as I leave the rehearsal process, Jason Sharp dons a space alien helmet with multiple eyes and another bizarre accent.
The group bursts out in laughter.
