Band update

All the band liasons are returning from talking to directors and they're making their lists of the songs that they need.

"Do you want to play Peter Gunn or James Bond?"

"I think Gunn might be easier."

"Can you play Mission Impossible on the flute?"

Why yes, Mission Impossible can be played on the flute. The list of artists being considered grows: Steve Miller Band, Prince, Indigo Girls, etc.

The cast of show #3, Safe, enters to map out some entrances and a couple bits of blocking. A flash mob of 2 are on the stage, dancing to the spy themes that the band is practicing while the lighting crew starts working on the new setup.

The band hears that there's a musical in the lineup and begins plotting.

"Oh! We need 'Kung Fu Fighting'"

The China Secret in the AM

I walk in to show #7's band liason high-fiving writer Darian and saying, "You wrote an end play. Its a fucking ender."

Its got stoners, warriors, a Kung-Fu master, a a blind-deaf sister and more.

And did I mention that its a musical?

Director Kelly is assigning the last roles as all the actors break out the highlighters to start working through their lines. "I give you full permission to have a ball with those grrrrrrrs."

Insignificant Others in the AM

Makaela Pollock already is onto read through #2 of the script Insignificant Others when costumer Amy Lazare comes into the room to help pull ideas for the show. Cocktail dresses come flying out, there's talk of how to dress up or down for the country club setting, if someone should wear the sad little khakis, and all the jewelry.

Makeala makes nametags for all the husbands in the piece as the cast tries to remember all the names for the Mutant Ninja Turtles (Michelangelo, Donatello and...2 others?).

One of the actresses has decided that its all about plastic surgery for her character. Enter the botox face!

Designers in the morning

The designers are getting ready to begin gathering props and materials for the day. Requests so far:

-boys action figure dolls (Mutant Ninja Turtles!)

-mattresses

-electronics that can be destroyed

-as much camping gear as possible

-puppets

One director has specifically asked for some hiking shoes in a specific color (pewter or peppermint?) that her script particularly calls for.

Its off to Goodwill and Salvation Army for the morning.

With only a couple of relatively mild admonishments to the band to be "quiet on stage," the 14/48 stress earthquake fault thing did not happen....so, yeah. Once again...it's your (goonies-like) influence when present at tech that, ahh....Inspires!...such funny-to-report antics!
