While the writers write...

...I and Jess will hand over the blog to them during the wee-small hours. And...Photog Michelle-my-bell will treat blog-readers to pix of writers in a state of total impatience. Damn the virtue, gals, just damn it.

Patience.

At home practicing patience, trying to write alongside the screamiest cat ever. She is circling the computer chair crying and howling. She doesn't want to sit on my lap, she doesn't want to not sit on my lap. She scratched my leg and aimed her claws for the orange couch that she is not allowed on. But, I love her. Really. She smells like old fish.

Hmmmm.....

Trying not to write about periods.

or why daddy never loved me.

or about ponies.

Patience, is it?

I'm thinking about Virtues, and what I have been told, and what I has been lived experience.....

AND PLEASE REMEMBER!

Overheard from the costumer trying to yell over all the din of conversation: VIRGINS! PLEASE.REMEMBER.PANTIES.  AS.IN...WEAR THEM!

No genderbending in this 14/48

All the roles are all women this time around.

Roster changes

One of our actors has a broken foot and is stepping up to direct, so there'll be a couple changes to the roster. Stay tuned in the morning.

And MAZEN goes to...

...JENNIFER JASPER!

And the theme is...

"Patience is a virtue"

Get to it, writers!

wait a second...

...where's Belyea?

and now for a drink

Virgins are turned magically into frantic barmaids as vets quickly slurp down whatever they already poured. Pretty even ratio of v-to-v this weekend!

Overheard at 14/48

For all you veterans following along, we've got something new: Overheard @ 14/48!

Take 1:
Actor 1: What did you get?
Actor 2: I'm playing a corpse.
Actor 1: I've got a six page monologue.

All 14/48 virgins to the stage!

...except this particular 14/48 virgin who is protected by the power of the blogging screen.

If I were a younger man

I would be excited, says Jodi Paul, but because I'm older now, I'm scared. Welcome LADIES!

The question is this: Will the girls go through as much beer as the guys and will the guys also get Pink Chablis?

Introductions

Shawn, Tim and Alex are all missing from the steering committee. Sorry you're missing the fun, gentlemen!

WE'RE HERE

Every one is streaming in...lots of HEEEYHIIII!!! and hugs and now lots and lots of chatting. The music pumping and beverages are flowing. Jodi Paul is on stage getting it ready to GO

Ladies first!

The beer and rose is flowing back in the newly ordained media corner of Theater Off Jackson. The questions so far:
Who will drink more beer between weekend one and two?
Will the men get the wine too?

Almost time to get this whole thing started. Theme coming soon!

File under "D" for Duh

After years of shooting 14/48, Michelle Bates came up with a great idea: listing the photographers on the Artist Roster.  You can checkout the Roster and see:

Ladies Weekend: Michelle Bates

Gentlemens Weekend: John Ulman

Click on their names to see their work outside 14/48.  They're really good and we appreciate these fine artists.

22 Days to Go

Artist Roster adjustments fly through the cloud.
Kegs of beer and boxes of wine are being bought.
1st weekend Bloggers and the Photographer are confirmed.

Please welcome Laurie Rose who will blog and Michelle Bates who will shoot the first weekend.  Laurie blogged BOTH weekends last January.  Anyone who matches that feat in the future will be credited with "pulling a full Rose."  It has been decided.  Michelle shot last January's 14/48 and has been associated with the festival since the OLD ConWorks days.  Recognize.

I did write 'bloggers' didn't I?  Please lovingly haze Virgin blogger Jessica Massart who comes to us from On the Boards where she is the Communications Director.  These three talented ladies will guide you though all that is the first ever all-female ensemble 14/48: The World's Quickest Ladies, July 22-23.

Single tickets are available at the fantastic Brown Paper Tickets.

Want to see these women in action but not have to pay a dime?  Then email volunteer@1448fest.com.  Commit to at least 4 hours of your July 22-23 weekend to 14/48 and see a show for free.  Spots are filling fast so email us now.

Ready for the Circle of Life kicker?  My first full-time arts admin job was PR Coordinator.  I was hired by... Laurie Rose at...  On the Boards.  Whoa.
