I Know A Little About This Play and it's Stinky Protagonist

I'm sitting in on Horton's Last Leg written by Ashley Bagwell. Director Lyam White is giving some notes and the cast is working on blocking and lines which is always a stutter step.
Some of the themes that are coming up are masturbation, peanut butter and the idea that the right dog breed may be more of a "pleaser".

I know for a fact that Mr. Bagwell had a little dog named Horton he loved more than was natural so watching this cast work their magic on what was truly a bug eyed, stinky little dog with the foulest breathe imaginable makes what I know of this story even more bittersweet.
