Each and every iteration of 14/48 seems to inspire a new mutation of its spirit among those who find themselves in its sphere. For example, last winter, a group of veterans who were unable to participate during the two weekends decided to take the theme and write their own 10 minute play in solidarity with the playwrights who were stressing at that moment.
This time through, Stranger Theater Editor Brendan Kiley will be live-reporting the festival, keeping himself to either 14 words or 48 characters (or less). An idea so appealing in its haiku approach we may emulate it randomly throughout the weekend.
Best of luck, Mr. Kiley, and welcome to the madness.
very cool adaption of the festival's impulsive creative "mission!"
