DRAWING OF THE THEME
We will see seven plays about...
"Fenced In"
WHOOOOOOOOOOO! Mad cheering in this theater right now

10 minutes is 6 pages only
“Excuse me, I’m in the band. I know you said scripts should be 6 pages, why are most of these 8 or more?”
“We print them extra big for the band.”
10 MINUTES!
That is how long the plays will be. It is a point that's been driven home several times.
A note on cleanliness...
"Pick up after yourselves, you filthy bastards!" - Jodi as he's running through the logistics for this weekend. Food plates, jock straps, various duder accoutrement - we have to make sure we keep the wonderful Theatre Off Jackson clean.
The Opening
"Sticky acting mess" - as Jodi-Paul Wooster has described the auspicious beginnings of 14/48. Introductions for Steering Committee members:
Megan Ahiers, Shawn Belyea, Kerri Brown-Wooster, Erin Fetridge, Tim Hyland, Andy Jensen, Peter Dylan O'Conner, Alex Samuels, Stan Shields, Jodi-Paul Wooster-Brown
Cheers for all, except the terrible, terrible people who are absent. Boos for them. Almost more boos than are in the keg at the back of the room. (WORDPLAY)

It's a sausage fest
Hey all, bienvenidos to Dude Weekend aka the most penis jokes in a theater you've ever seen, and the most fart jokes you've ever winced at.
Random quotes as people gather:
"It's a sausage fest"
"This will be the smelliest weekend of theater ever."
"Well, we're just going to jump off the cliff and hope the parachute opens"
Okay, that last one didn't have a dude tie-in, but still. Risky business all over the place.

good night...
...farewell and amen! If you want to know anymore, you are gonna have to get down here to see for yourself (tix still available for the 10:30!)
Lady bloggers are signing off
Its been fun, but the house is about to open so we have to run.
Congrats, ladies of 14/48! And good luck boys - you've got a lot to live up to.
Not just leftovers
Hot blogging tip from Michelle - the chicken grease from dinner is being used on a costume for The Underneath as requested by director Susanna. Straight from the container onto the skirt!
tech is wrapped!
The house is now turned over to the band and ToJ. Only an hour until opening the house!
Tech 7 - The China Secret
The kung fu musical is closing out our night. AKA "Kung Fu Jesus."
We begin with a ritual entrance complete with monk robes. "Once upon a time in China"
We're running right now without backing from the band, who will add in instrumental later on.
First number is a hymn with exposition about a girl who wants to become a kung fu master. Second song has a sheen of Sheila E to it. Just a little.
Next song interlude comes with sock puppets!
Now we're into a country-flavored song.
The girl who wants to be a kung fu master has begun to gather a following of stoners. And suddenly she saves a fallen sister, Laz, with the thousand needle pricks technique. "Just a little aggressive acupressure, no big deal."
Some doo-wop about the mastery of the secret scrolls and the girl's miracles.
Karate fight!
Some blues, some harmony and we're out!
Tech 6 - This is Not September 11th
The two ladies of This is Not September 11th have arrived on the stage with an office setup for tech. We're getting a full run in here.
There's talk of fire laws, exit signs, the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory. Two women sharing stories at a desperate time.
"Are you with me?"
"I'm with you"
Tech 5 - Leave No Trace
The flashlights are back! Plus a campfire, sleeping bags, headlamps, camping chairs, coolers and all your other standard needs for a trip to the outdoors. And plaid. Lots of plaid.
We're transitioning from intermission here, band is trying out their Act 2 song.
"We're unclear if we're doing a rockin kumbayah at that point"
"Yes please"
This one calls for man voices, using some pre-recorded dialogue ("dude! beer bongs!").
This cast is breaking out stage snacks just as dinner is being served upstairs.
